The Chief of Staff to the Governor Pastor Caleb Ajagba has charged the Executive Members of the Aba Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (ACCIMA) to enhance Aba’s brand image to the international world as they prepare for their 2024 International Trade Fare.
Pastor Ajagba who gave the charge when the ACCIMA team paid him a courtesy visit at Government House Umuahia, called on ACCIMA members to organize themselves effectively to capitalize on the economic opportunities emerging in Aba.
Ajagba who emphasized Governor Otti’s commitment to fostering industry and development, highlighted the importance of sustaining infrastructure developments in the city, urging business leaders to think creatively.
He assured the ACCIMA team of the Government’s full support, stating that, “His Excellency values ACCIMA and stands firmly behind you. He’s ready to partner with you for the state’s progress and achieve his vision for the state”.
Pastor Ajagba further stressed the need for the ACCIMA team to align to the vision and passion of the Governor and his commitment to building a new Abia that would be reckoned with globally, and to restore and reclaim the lost glory of Aba as the Japan of Africa.
Ajagba, emphasized the need for products and services originating from Aba to be of top-notch quality, not only catering to the Nigerian market but also aiming to serve West Africa and the global community.
“As business giants operating in Aba as ACCIMA, whatever you don’t envision, don’t happen. It is your responsibility to organize yourselves.
“So much is required of you, seize the economic opportunities coming to Aba. You must do everything possible to sustain this infrastructure that is coming to Aba, you must also begin to think very creatively to make sure the products, services and whatever that is coming from Aba is topnotch in terms of servicing not just Nigeria, but the West Africa and the entire human race”, Ajagba stated.
He assured them that the governor is ready to partner them to host the 2024 International Trade Fare coming up ending of this year.
In their various speeches, the Commissioner for Trade, Commerce and Industry Dr. Chimezie Ukaegbu and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Trade, Commerce and Industry Chief Nwaka Inem echoed the government’s commitment to excellence.
They advised the ACCIMA team to consider professional consultants to create a truly impressive event for the international stage.
Earlier in his address, the president of the ACCIMA Mr. Geoffrey Uzoagbara expressed appreciation to Governor Otti’s for his positive initiatives which is already impacting businesses and the state’s economy.
He requested that ACCIMA members be included in policy discussions affecting the local economy and private sector.
Also contributing, the Vice President Intergovernmental Relation Hon. Joseph Ogwo and his counterpart in Oil and Gas Engr. Nkene Enukeme reiterated their commitment to hosting a world-class trade fair and urged the government to establish a permanent trade fair venue in Aba.
