Shun Social Vices, Rector ABSCHOMAT, Okezie Charges New SUG Executives

The Rector, Abia State College Of Health Sciences And Management Technology Aba, Abia State (ABSCHOMAT), Sir Alloy Okezie has urged newly elected Students Union Government (SUG) of the institution to be law-abiding and render selfless services to students.

The Rector who disclosed this to newsmen shortly after the SUG election, congratulated the winners of the keenly contested exercise, reiterated the school management resolve to prioritize the welfare of staff and students.

The Rector, further charged them to shun cultism and other forms of social vices, urged them to take their studies seriously, insisting that his administration has zero tolerance for any form of corruption from staff and students.

In his remark, the newly elected SUG President, Mr. Echewaodo Cyprian thanked students for their confidence reposed in him, expressed through their votes, adding that he would not disappoint them.

Echewaodo who also decried lack of light at night for students to study, promised to collaborate with the Rector to change the aged-long narrative.

The SUG President who also thanked the Rector for creating an enabling environment for free, fair and credible elections in the school, promised to make the welfare of the student community his utmost priority.

Meanwhile, the Chairman, Electoral Committee, ABSCHOMAT, Mr. Frank Nnadede who thanked students for their massive turn out, congratulated the winners of the contest.

Nnadede who advised the newly elected SUG executives to serve with the fear of God, urged them to be magnanimous in victory and carry everybody along.

Contributing, a student of the institution, Mr. ThankGod Ekeke has congratulated the newly elected SUG executives, expressing faith that they would not fail the students.

Mr. Ekeke who further thanked the Rector, Sir Okezie for his unwavering commitments towards students’ welfare, also applauded his neutrality during the electoral contest.

Earlier, Cyprian Echewaodo who was declared Winner of SUG President, garnered 274 votes to defeat his close rival, Mr. Samuel Ihearioriochi who scored 239 votes.
