Local Governments and Chieftaincy Affairs Commissioner Extols Mayor Nwankwo’s efforts in rebuilding Bende LGA.

The Commissioner for Local Governments and Chieftaincy Affairs, Prince Uzo Nwachukwu has commended the Mayor of Bende LGA, Barr. Chijioke Nwankwo for his efforts and determination to rebuild the council headquarters and Bende LGA at large.

The Commissioner who paid an unscheduled visit to the council said that he came to see things for himself and to ascertain the Mayors avowed commitment to developing Bende LGA.

According to him, “we came here with the state evaluation team to see things for ourselves and I must confess, the mayor exceeded our expectations”

“We are satisfied with the giant strides already on ground, I have learnt of the rural roads grading and now we are witnessing a total turn around reconstruction of the council headquarters”

“This is commendable and in line with Governor Otti’s commitment towards developing Abia state” he said.

Conducting the state evaluation team round the council headquarters, Mayor Nwankwo reveals that upon assumption of office late last year, they discovered that the council headquarters was in total ruins.
“We sought the support of the Governor and without delay got approval, today the council staff and Bende people are happy because while work are still ongoing, the council is wearing a new looks”.

“we are also collaborating with the state government to diversify and mechanize farming system in this area, to that effect, agric experts from Bulgarian government, and CSS Integrated Farms Nassarawa have come and conducted preliminary studies, while we are waiting for them to come and invest, we have distributed special breed of rice seedlings to local farmers”
” Our security is in top notch and the council staff are happy for being carried along and working in a conducive environment ” he said.

On a whole, while the Governor is tackling the issues of the state head on, we have no choice than to follow in his footsteps by replicating same in rural areas where he had appointed us to work for Abians.
