Abia Debunks Fake News Of Suing Nigerian Government, President Tinubu

The Abia State Government has vehemently refuted claims circulating on social media, particularly X (formerly Twitter), alleging that Governor Otti has filed a lawsuit against the Nigerian Government and President Bola Tinubu at the International Criminal Court (ICC).

The fake news claims that Governor Otti initiated legal action against the Federal Republic of Nigeria and President Tinubu for purportedly denying Abia State’s request to establish a seaport and an international airport.

Additionally, it falsely suggests that Governor Otti imposed a ban on businesses operated by Nigerians of northern descent residing in Abia State until the proposed infrastructural projects are approved.

But, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Kazie Ukoh in response, categorically denounced the fabricated narrative as baseless and malicious.

He clarified that the state government is still in the planning stages regarding the proposed seaport and expressed gratitude to the Federal Government for allocating funds for an airstrip in Abia in the current budget.

“There is absolutely no truth in this wickedly contrived fable. We are still on the drawing board on the proposed seaport while the Federal Government provided for an airstrip in Abia in the current budget, for which we are grateful“, Ukoh pointed out.

He therefore urged the public to disregard the misleading report and treat the misinformation as the handiwork of idle troublemakers.

The general public is by this statement, therefore, advised to ignore the fake report, treat it for what it is, a trash, and consign it to the waste bin, as it is the handiwork of idle rabble-rousers“, he said.
