Gov. Otu Promises to Better Welfare Of Cross River Monarchs

In a bid to carry everyone along in his administration, the Governor of Cross River State Senator Bassey Otu has promised to better the welfare of Monarchs in the State.

 

The Governor made the promise when he issued Staff of Office and Certificate to three new elected Paramount Rulers in the State, Akamkpa, Ikom and Obudu Paramount Rulers.

 

Akamkpa Local Government Area has His Royal Majesty Oboi Agbor Ewa as the new Paramount Ruler while Ikom Local Government Area has His Royal Majesty Minen Takon Akangba and His Royal Majesty Utsu Ukandi Felix Abanbeshie Okudare the Paramount Ruler of Obudu.

The Chairman of Traditional Rulers Council in the State, and Paramount Ruler of Bakassi Etiyin Etim Edet Okon in his speech during the occasion admonished the new Paramount Rulers and urged them to uphold Cultural Practices and Traditions that made the State unique.

 

The Chairman pleaded with the Government to upgrade the Palaces of the Traditional Rulers in the State, as most of them are in a bad shape, stressing that happy Monarchs with boosted morale will result to a happy and better people.
