Abia Govt Endorses 2023 Face Of Afrique Styles Pageant, Gives Support Materials

Abia state government has reiterated its commitments towards the growth and well-being of the girl child.

The wife of the Abia State Governor,
Lady Priscilla Otti stated this when she received in audience the Founder/CEO, Face of Afrique and Styles, Afrique Styles and Concepts Amb. Umah-Kalu Jessey and her team.

Represented by the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Abia Governor on Vulnerable Groups and Poverty Alleviation, Mrs Ifeoma Thompson, she stated that the office of the wife of the governor would do everything within her disposal to reposition the girl child in order to compete favourably with their male counterparts.

She said: “when you build a woman, you have built a nation.” She restated the state government’s commitment towards ensuring that Abia youths receive all the needed support to grow.

Lady Otti, who endorsed the group, Face of Afrique Styles and Concepts, also donated sanitary items in support of the Girl’s pet project of Afrique styles.

Speaking earlier, the Face of Afrique Styles team led by the CEO of Afrique Styles and Concepts, Amb. Umah-Kalu Jessey, said that they were on a courtesy visit ahead of the December 10, 2023 edition off the Face of Afrique Styles and Afrique Personality Awards holding at Mary’s Garden, Confidence Hotel Umuahia in Abia State by 5pm.

Responding, to the gesture, Amb. Umah-Kalu Jessey, appreciated Abia’s First Lady for her unwavering support and her belief in the power of women to drive positive changes in the society.

In her words: “The Contestants in the Face of Afrique Styles program have already taken significant steps towards their empowerment.
“They have acquired certificates in Google Digital Marketing Course and Project Management Certificate Course. These certifications will provide them with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in the digital age. In addition to these certifications, the girls will also participate in a variety of self-development and capacity-building programs during the Reality Camp and after the event.
“These programs will include computer training at BEMS GROUP, business development at HIREME AFRICA, Human Capacity Development by IG-HUB and a couple of entrepreneurship certificate programs. Through these programs, the girls will gain the skills and confidence they need to become successful entrepreneurs.
“They will learn how to develop business ideas, create marketing plans, and manage their finances.
“They will also have the opportunity to network with other entrepreneurs and potential investors. The Face of Afrique Styles program is more than just a beauty pageant. It is an investment in the future of young women in Abia State. By providing them with the skills and resources they need, we are helping them to break the cycle of poverty and create a brighter future for themselves and their communities.
