Christians all over the globe especially Nigerians, have been tasked to persist in their prayers. The charge was made by the General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God Nigeria, Rev. (Dr.) Abel Amadi at Umudike/Umuariaga church in Ikwuano Local Government Area of Abia state, during their National October Enlargement Campaign Programme, “Atmosphere of Glory.”
The General overseer revealed that God is still restoring hope believing that Nigeria will bounce back in spite of her challenges. Amadi who anchored his message on Exodus 33: 12-16, maintained that God has not forgotten Nigeria, as a nation.
He added that, it is prayer that has been keeping the country, as one. He used the avenue to call on Nigerian Christians to sustain their faith, while reminding them that God does not disappoint, adding that persistent prayers will help the nation overcome challenges.
He, however, stated that though, some Christians are not genuine, reaffirmed that God knows those who are His.
Responding to questions on the issue of politics, the General superintendent encouraged believers to join the nation’s politics as part of the process to enthrone godly leaders in order to confirm the word of God that when the righteous is on the throne, the people rejoice.
Amadi noted that without active politics, Christians will not have a place in the governance of the state (Nigeria). According to him, it is not unscriptural, having Christians in government as he viewed that leaving the unbelievers to direct the affairs of the nation at all levels will lead to economic and socio -political crisis.
The IMO born cleric warned the nation’s political leaders to be sensitive to the plight of the people. Continuing, the revered preacher urged them to make good use of their offices in order to better the lives of the citizens.
He cautioned Nigerian leaders to do what is right as he enjoined believers to always pray for those in authorities.
The man of God devised that while the church prays, they should also back it up with involvement in political activities but should not be carried away and he drew their attention not to hope only in the world.
The GS observed that God has been fighting unseen battles for the nation adding that Nigeria will rise again. He stated that because many acclaimed Christians have made mockery of Christianity, it looks as if God does not exist.
The minister reassured the church that with God, there is no lateness, while insisting that the AG October enlargement Programme which is targeted at soul winning is still achieving its purpose, disclosing that if the essence is defeated, the church would have discontinued with it.
The National leader of the church expressed confidence that the Glory of the Assemblies of God Nigeria, which according to him, that singled them out, would be restored.
He further commended the members of the church for their efforts in serving God, while applauding the pastorate with special acknowledgement to the lead pastor, Rev. Iyke Okoro for his vision towards expanding the kingdom.
The event which was one of the hit programmes of the AG U/U as it is historic, that the Church hosted both the former and serving General Superintendent of the denomination during Atmosphere of Glory also attracted the presence of the District Superintendent of Umuahia Central (Jerusalem), Rev. (Dr.) Henry Emenike, among other clergies.
The service featured gospel rendition, testimonies, prayers and other spirit fill activities.
