Encomiums As Varsity Don Launches Four Academic Books Same Time

 

 

Another record was attained as a university Lecturer and Director of Research and Connectivity, Clifford University Owerrinta, Abia State, Elder Dr Daniel Azunna, publishes and launches quadruple books at the same time, a feat which is very rare among academicians.

Interacting with Newsmen shortly after the official presentation of the books to the public,held at the Main Auditorium, Clifford University, Owerrinta,Ihie Campus,Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Area of Abia State, Dr Azunna expressed gratitude to God for what he described as a journey of three years that has materialized.

He mentioned the titles of the books to include : Closer than a Brother, Simplified Physics for science and engineering, Students Beginners’ physics volume 1 and 2.

Elder Azunna, also recounted some of the challenges he faced in the course of carrying out this academic exercise to include discouragement, financial challenges and even at a point he explained that he had wanted to abandon the task but for sheer determination, interest and God’s grace,the work was materialized .

According to him,” Having completed my PhD dissertation, published some of them as journal articles and awaiting my final viva voce, I was left with little academic work.

“In one of my pensive moments, I recounted how God has preserved my life and empowered me in diverse ways and I picked up a notepad to put them down. As I did so, Proverbs 18:24b came to my mind; “But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother”

” I was inspired that God is the only Friend of mine who is closer than a brother.That gave birth to the book ,” Closer than a Brother”


Continuing, he encouraged fellow scholars to keep working hard in secret and not to give up on their goals and life conviction, adding that determination,consistency and discipline will pay off one day.

In his Speech,the Abia State Former Commissioner for Education, Professor Kanelechi Nwangwa,disclosed that simplifying ideas and knowledge will help students to understand them.

“Making knowledge affordable, understandable and breaking it down, will also help readers to comprehend them”. Hence, he urged government to look into the affairs of private schools in the country to ensure that they are impacting the right knowledge to their students, noting that learning is not all about getting scores, but impacting knowledge.

 

He described the Author as a very humble, meticulous and thorough bred academician.

 

Earlier, the President and Vice chancellor, Clifford university, Professor Chimezie A. Omeonu, described the event as historical in the life of the university,as the institution’s Director of Research and Connectivity published and launched four books, said he wished him the best and urged other lecturers to emulate him.

In their separate speeches while reviewing the books, the reviewers, Professor of Geophysics from Michael Okpara university of Agriculture Umudike, Professor Magnus U. Igboekwe and an Associate professor of Sociology of Religion and Biblical studies in Clifford university, Pastor Dr Dimgba D. Esowe, described  the Author as a distinguished character and thorough bred academician, while recommending the books to students and others.
