Abia state Governor, Dr Alex Otti has issued a directive to the state’s security agents to promptly identify and apprehend the killers of the Labour Party chieftain, Mr Maduka Zachary.
Governor Otti gave the directive at Umuchioke-Ezieke, Akpukpa, Uturu in Isuikwuato Local Government Area of the State when he paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Labour Party chieftain, who was tragically beheaded by his killers.
The Governor described the deceased as committed party man.who distinguished himself during the last general election as the Labour Party Campaign Manager in Uturu and lamented that his death extends beyond just the immediate family to the party and the entire State.
He assured the bereaved family that his government will stop at nothing to ensure that all involved in the killing of the deceased are made to face the full weight of the law.
The State Chief Executive who noted that it is not easy to endure such a tragic death however noted that no one can reverse what has happened and prayed God to console the immediate family, the Labour Party family and the people of the State.
The Governor, who signed the condolence register on arrival was accompanied on the visit by the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Prince Okey Kanu and his Justice counterpart, Barr. Ikechukwu Uwanna among other top government officials.
