Engineer Emetu Reassures of Good Governance, Development of Abia Under Gov Otti

Abia State Deputy Governor, Chief Ikechukwu Emetu has assured the people of Ohafia of his commitment to good governance and development of Ohafia communities and Abia State at large

Chief Emetu who gave the assurance when members of Amaekpu Development Union led by their Traditional Ruler, Ezieogo Uduma Obuba Kalu and President, Chief Alum Otis paid him a congratulatory visit at his country home, Amaekpu Ohafia informed them that he was already working to restore electricity supply to Ohafia which will be completed soonest.

The Deputy Governor further disclosed that the ongoing desilting of drainages and planned reconstruction of the Amaekpu-Okagwe-Oboro road will be actualized
while Dr. Alex Otti’s led Govt will soon commence the reconstruction of Ohafia General Hospital as part of efforts to improve health care delivery services to Abians.

He informed them of the upcoming health insurance program that will ensure that all Abians are provided health care services whenever the need arises, adding that the government have commenced enrollment of pensioners into the Health Insurance programme.

The Deputy Governor further reaffirmed his commitment to creating job opportunities and empowerment of Abians and disclosed that the agricultural development policies of the new Abia will not only favour the Abia North region but other sections of the State due to its comparative advantage in the production of rice, fish, poultry, yam, cassava and other cash crops.

The Deputy Governor urged the people of Amaekpu to always remain a peaceful community and to be more vigilant in securing public assets in their domain.

In his remarks earlier, the Traditional Ruler of Amaekpu Ohafia Community, Ezieogo Uduma Obuba Kalu congratulated the Governor Dr Alex Otti and his Deputy, Chief Ikechukwu Emetu on their success at the polls and pledged their unalloyed support to the present administration to enable them to fulfil on their mandate to the people.
