Members of the Abia State House of Assembly has emerged winner of the novelty match between them and members of the State Executive Council, the match which was played at the Umuahia township stadium as part of activities to mark the 32nd anniversary of the creation of the state.
The novelty match was kicked off by the amiable and amazing wife of the Executive Governor of the State, Lady Priscilla Otti.
At the end of first half the score line was goalless, but when action resumed by the second half the House of Assembly team scored three reply goals to defeat their opponent.
Presenting the trophy to the captain of the State House of Assembly team and Deputy Speaker State House of Assembly, Mr. Okezie Nmeregini, the Secretary to the State Government and Captain of the team of the Executive council Professor Kenneth Kalu congratulated them and appreciated all players as well as those that came to witness the match, pointing out that together the rebuilding agenda of the Governor will be achieved.
Also speaking while presenting a trophy to the state Executive council team, the Deputy speaker Mr. Okezie Nmeregini thanked Governor, Dr. Alex Otti for the able way he has been piloting the affairs of the state adding that is witnessing a new dawn under the present administration.
