Government to Partner NEMA for Emergency Management 

Abia State Government has said that it will continue to partner with Federal Government Agencies and International Organizations that are aimed at making life more meaningful for the people.

The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prof Kenneth Kalu, made this known when he received the Head of operations NEMA, Imo and Abia, Mr Ifeanyi Nnaji and his team in company of the Executive Secretary, State Emergency Management Agency, Dr. Sunny Jackson, during a courtesy visit to his office.

Prof Kalu who assured them of Dr Alex Otti led Administration’s collaboration, also promised that the government will not hesitate to provide an enabling environment for the agency to effectively and efficiently carry out its operations in the state.

Speaking earlier, the NEMA Head of operations for Imo and Abia, Mr Ifeanyi Nnaji, said they came to intimate the SSG of the activities of the agency as well as to solicit partnership for effective operations in the State.

He pointed out that the agency has done a lot in humanitarian interventions while making a case for the creation of resilience community to enable people cope in case of flooding and natural disasters, while congratulating the Governor, Alex Otti on his victory during the last general elections .

The visit featured presentation of the agency’s journals to the SSG.
