Item Honours Registrar ABSU, Dr Acho Elendu With Item Merit Award

As part of activities that marked the Item day celebration 2022, the Registrar, Abia State University Uturu, Dr. Acho Elendu has been honored with an “ITEM MERIT AWARD” in recognition of his valuable contributions to the Education advancement of Item people

Speaking after receiving the award held at the Umunnato central school Item Bende LGA, Dr Elendu thanked the people for recognizing his contributions towards the development of their community and assured that the award will spur him to do more for the people.

The registrar ABSU dedicated the award to God for his goodness upon him, the Elendu family, item community and the Abia State University and wished all a Merry Christmas and a prosperous 2023

Earlier in his address, the president general, Item Development Association, Chief Kingsley Ogba Nwaokoro said the day which is celebrated on the 30th December of every year is used as a payback time to appreciate sons and daughters of Item as well as friends and benefactors through awards of different categories.

Chief Ogba Nwokoro disclosed that the item day celebration has also served as a veritable platform for the exploration, development and sustenance of bond of unity between Item people, their neighbors and all men of goodwill and congratulated Dr. Acho Elendu and other awardees on their well deserved recognition

Highpoint of the Item day celebration was the presentation of IDA National Uniform and was attended by many dignitaries.
