The All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman in Enugu, Chief Ugochukwu Agballah, says Nigeria needs to emancipate herself from social injustice to attain enduring democracy.
Chief Agballa who made the remark while being honoured by NUJ FRCN South East Zone Chapel during it’s annual lecture series emphasized that the people in the state need best hands to develop the area and address all injustices meted to them.
He commended NUJ FRCN South East Chapel led by Comrade Obinna Ogbuka for standing on the truth and finding him worthy to be honoured as “Social Justice Crusader of the Year” stressing that the honour had motivated him to continue standing on Justice and fighting for enhancement of democracy.
Earlier while presenting the Award, the Chairman NUJ FRCN Chapel, Comrade Obinna Ogbuka commended Chief Agballah for his efforts to change narratives of politics in Enugu State which was worth emulating.
He said the honour was sequel to his positive antecedents, brevity, and contributions towards the enhancement of democracy.
He called for positive collaboration with the union to ensure a positive change in society.
Present at the event were top APC state party leaders and candidates, including the secretary of the party, Dr. Robert Ngwu.
The theme of the Annual Lecture series was “The media and the task of building sustainable democracy”.
