Nigerians Hail UN Appointment Of Ezedioranma As Special Envoy On Poverty Alleviation, Others

A cross section of Nigerians, recently, hailed United Nations International Peace and Governance Council (UN-IPGC) for appointing Mrs Amaka Ezedioranma as a Special Envoy on Humanity, Poverty Alleviation and Social Welfare in Enugu State.

Ezedioranma was handed over an award and letter of appointment by Dr Farzam Kamalabadi, the UN-IPGC Africa Head of Mission in Abuja recently.

It would be recalled that the humanists and philanthropist achieved her humanitarian feat of keeping children in schools in Enugu State through her co-founder Support Children Education Fund (SCEFUND).

They were of the view that Ezedioranma, an educational philanthropist, having given over 876 pupils in Enugu State scholarship empowerment to remain and continue with their education deserves special recognition and destination as a Special Envoy.

Speaking, Prof Marcel Ezenwoye, President of Chartered Institute of Educational Practitioners UK (CIEPUK) Africa Region, said that Ezedioranma deserves to be celebrated.

Ezenwoye said: “Ezedioranma has pulled so many children out of the streets through his SCEFUND organisation”.

Dr Chimbo Obieze, a UN special Envoy, commended Ezedioranma for her Excellent achievement in children education empowerment gateway in Enugu State.

The Area Coordinator of Sisters International Fellowship, Mrs Ngosi Onyejekwe, said Ezedioranma had touched some many lives in Enugu State and beyond so she deserves the appointment.

“I call for more partners to support the SCEFUND mandate and Enugu State Government through the ministry of education to make education fee easier for parents and teeming children and youths to access quality education,” Onyejekwe said.

Maj.-Gen. Bello Tsoho, also charged Ezedioranma not to relent in her good works to humanity but continue on the track record she had set through her SCEFUND project.

Tsoho, who is the IPGC Chairman, Advisory Panel on Sustainable Peace Education, noted that no effort should be spared in ensuring that “every child is in school for their upbringing to be holistic”.

“I call on the good people of Enugu State to sustain this ongoing effort for the betterment of the future of our children and society at large,” he said.

Rev. Fr. Innocent Ugwu, a Priest in St. Theresa Parish in Amalla community in Udenu Local Government Area in Enugu State, said that Ezedioranma had supported some families in the community’s St. Theresa Primary School for their children to continue schooling.

“We are grateful to Ezedioranma for this timely intervention notwithstanding the harsh economic realities facing everyone,” Ugwu said.

Mr Johnpaul Ugwunta, a native of Ukehe community of Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area in Enugu State, noted that when it was difficult for his school parents to fund their children’s education fee school at a time, Ezedioranma’s SCEFUND organization gave the many family and the school a life-line opportunity till date.

“SCEFUND provided the extra funding to keep my children in a private primary school – St. Paul International School, Ukehe – they are attending now,” Ugwunta said.

It would be recalled that SCEFUND is a certified organisation tasked with grooming and supporting the education of upcoming leaders that would take charge tomorrow in their various fields of human endeavours.

Ezedioranma is currently the Executive Business Development Manager of SCEFUND.
