An NGO,12-24 Club has awarded scholarship to one Zion Malachy to study music at University of Nigeria (UNN), pledging to support other youths with music potentials.
The President of the Club, Engr. Macdonald Okwor, stated this recently during Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols for young people in Enugu to commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ.
Speaking at the event, Okwor said the Club focused more on youths and were determined to identify youths with music potentials and support them develop their talents this festival period.
He explained that 12-24Club was a non-denominational, faith based organisation that believes in one faith, in the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
“It is a musical platform and that is why our slogan is, “love for music and passion for God.” So it’s a nongovernmental organization that reaches out to the youths through the platform of music.
“We identify the skill of music in you, and we keep you up, promote and sponsor you to ensure that you reach your potential by the grace of God.
“This is why some of our programmes are tailored towards talent discovery and promotion,”Okwor said.
On Malachy, Okwor said,” this guy has a good skill in music, so we thought he should be trained to be a professional in the industry.
So we viewed his commitment, and skill and decided that he is worthy for the scholarship,” he added.
Earlier in a message, the Pastor with Dominion City, Inyi, Oji River LGA, Cyril Nnaemeka, advised Christians to imbibe the virtue of Jesus Christ in their daily lives and to live in harmony with their neighbours as they prepare for Christmas.
Nnaemeka, described Christ in the lives of Christians as the hope of the world, adding that they must emulate Him to live a fulfilled life.
“Jesus Christ did not come for fun, he came for an assignment; a function which is to redeem mankind, we should represent hope as believers and be a symbol of hope.
“The gift of Jesus is hope, hope for better Nigeria, hope for future, better society and humanity,” he said.
The cleric further admonished Christians to live a Christ like life in their places of work and businesses, adding that it was the light of Christ in them that would distinguish them as individuals.
He, therefore, advised Christians to embrace Jesus, urging them to be good ambassadors of Christ in all of their endeavours.
12-24 Club is a registered non-governmental organizations (NGO) with the mandate to win millions of souls, especially youths every year for Christ through music.
The event witnessed Christmas carols from the God’s Child Choir, Soldiers of Emmanuel Choir, as well as the Lion Philharmonic Orchestra, UNN and 12-24 Club choir respectively.
It was graced by a number of dignitaries including student groups among others.
