Ukwa-East Chapter of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Campaign Council has been inaugurated with the Deputy Majority leader and member representing Ukwa-East State Constituency, Hon. Paul Taribo as the Director-General.
Speaking at the event, the Abia state Chairman of PDP Rt. Hon. Alwell Asiforo Okere charged the council to leave no stone unturned and ensure victory for their party in the 2023 general elections in Ukwa-East.
The former Speaker, Abia State House of Assembly who also urged the council members to work tirelessly to ensure Ukwa-East registers victory at all levels in the elections, further advised the council to take seriously the issue of commitment and dedication of its members across the units or wards.
He maintained that disloyalty and double standards should never be tolerated, explaining that the 2023 general polls must be taken extremely serious to be able to record 100 per cent victory for the party in Ukwa-East and beyond.
He pointed out that their party; PDP has favored Ukwa-East with their sons; Senator Adolph Wabara and Rt. Hon. Asiforo Okere, emerging as the Chairman, Board of Trustee (BOT) and Abia state chairman of PDP, hence the need not to let the party down in 2023 general polls.
In his words: “Stand firm, be resolute and work for the party with unity of purpose and all would be carried along after the victories”.
Meanwhile, the Abia State Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Barr. Tony Nwamuo, who congratulated the Campaign Council, urged them to deploy everything within their arsenal to ensure PDP cruise to victory come 2023 general polls.
Nwamuo added that the Abia state Governor, Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu has performed creditably to deserve another chance to represent the good people of Abia South Senatorial District, urging Ukwa-East and West LGA to vote for him come 2023 general elections.
In his remark, the Campaign Director-General, Rt. Hon Paul Taribo assured the state party chairman of 100 per cent in Ukwa-East, adding that the Local Government is traditionally is PDP.
He expressed displeasure that all those who have benefited from the PDP-led government of Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu are now fighting the same finger that fed them.
Contributing, the Executive Chairman, Ukwa-East LGA, Hon. Chuks Wabara posited that his government will do everything within her power to deliver the candidates of PDP in the forthcoming general elections and urged everyone to join or rejoin the winning team.
In his remark, the PDP flagbearer for the Ukwa-East Constituency, Hon Lewis Obianyi noted that PDP has carefully selected candidates with good track records and capacities for each of the position, assuring the electorate of quality representations when elected.
