Rousing Reception For Gov. Ugwuanyi In Eha-Amufu, As Isi-Uzo Youths, Stakeholders Reiterate Support For PDP ln 2023

It was a cheering experience for Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State on arrival in Eha-Amufu, Isi-Uzo Local Government Area of the state, which is the country home of the former Vice Chancellor of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, Abia State, Prof. Hilary Odo Edeoga, as the people of the area, women, youths and stakeholders of the council area trooped out in their numbers to welcome the governor amid cheers and excitement.

Gov. Ugwuanyi, who was accompanied by the State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Augustine Nnamani and the Member representing Enugu East/Isi-Uzo Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Hon. Prince Cornelius Nnaji, was in Eha-Amufu, on a private visit to celebrate with Prof. Edeoga on his recent conferment with the National Honours award of the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) by President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja.

The governor who was accorded a rousing reception was also entertained with different cultural displays with traditional renditions that dramatised the people’s love and endorsement of the governor’s rare leadership qualities and sterling contributions to the development of Eha-Amufu in particular and Isi-Uzo LGA in general.

Welcoming Gov. Ugwuanyi, youths of Isi-Uzo LGA reassured the governor that they are solidly behind him. They also reassured the governor that Isi-Uzo LGA is PDP, stressing that the council area will deliver PDP 100 percent in the 2023 general election.

Presenting the stance of Isi-Uzo youths, Innocent Lotachukwu Odo told Gov. Ugwuanyi that “the promise we make to you is that since we have been delivering PDP 100 percent in the past, we will still give the party 100 percent votes in these coming elections.

“We are here to reassure you that Isi-Uzo youths are fully with you, 100 percent with you as well as assuring you that Isi-Uzo LGA is PDP. There is no shaking!”

Speaking on behalf of the stakeholders and people of Isi-Uzo LGA, former Commissioner for Human Capital Development and Poverty Reduction, Hon. Godwin Ogenyi, thanked Gov. Ugwuanyi for honouring them with the visit stating that it was a mark of respect for their people.

Thanking the governor for the special attention his administration has paid to Isi-Uzo LGA, Hon. Ogenyi said: “The people of Eha-Amufu are happy with you. The people of Isi-Uzo are equally happy with you. We are happy with you the way you are taking care of our people. The way you are taking care of our children and the way the things that concern our people touches your heart.

“We are not saying this just as an expression because the time will come when we will show you that we are standing with you.

“Just know that after a dark cloud of rain, the moon will definitely shine. At that moment every eye will witness its brightness to the earth. We say welcome, Your Excellency.”

Stakeholders of Isi-Uzo LGA who graced the event include the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Dr. Jideofor Ebeh; the Council Chairman, Hon. Barr. Obiora Obeagu; PDP LG Chairman, Hon. Uche Ugwueze; former Chairman of Isi-Uzo LGA and ex-acting National Financial Secretary of the PDP, Hon. Osita Ogene; former Council Chairmen, Hon. Eric Ebe and Hon. Jacob O. Abonyi; National President, Eha-Amufu Federated Development Union, Eberechukwu Japhet; former Transition Committee Chairman, Hon. Emmanuel Igwurube; former PDP LG Chairman, Hon. Benjamin Ebe, Franklin Nnamani, etc.
