Makinde Commissions Umuakatawom Road,Praises Ikpeazu On Developmental Projects

 

The Oyo State Governor,Seyi Makinde has commissioned the Umuakatawom-Osaa-Okea-Ohuru road in Obingwa LGA  constructed by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.

Speaking during the ceremony,Governor Makinde lauded Governor Ikpeazu die utilizing the lean resources acruable to Abia state in delivering democratic dividends to the people and urged him not to relent in his good works.

 

The Oyo state Governor described his Abia Counterpart as a game changer who has written his name on the sands of time through his developmental projects across the state adding that he is proud to be associated with Governor Ikpeazu as a friend and confidant.

 

He further  appreciated  Governor Ikpeazu for accommodating the Yoruba community in Abia state and giving them a sense of belonging thus fostering ethnic unity.

Also speaking, the Governor,Dr Okezie Ikpeazu in his remarks, described the road as as an important Agricultural gate way for the evacuation of farm produce to the city adding that the road is strategic to the economic survival of the people as it serves as alternative route to Umuikaa, Umuahia,Aba and other parts of the state.

 

He noted that that the Umuakatawom-Osaa-Okea-Ohuru road is the first the asphalted road in the history of the communities and expressed optimism that the project will beget more roads in the areas as well as trigger off more development.

 

In his remarks, the Commissioner for Works, Elder Bob Ogu said the roads constructed by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu are in line with his administration’s strategy of development principles aimed at opening up rural roads to boost trade and commerce.

 

 

The President of the Yoruba community in Aba, Babatunde Olatunde said that the administration of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has given the Yoruba community a sense of belonging through appointment into positions of power with its attendant ethnic harmony and unity.
