The Chairperson for Isialangwa South Local Government Area, Lolo Victoria Ike Anyatonwu has congratulated the women of Isialangwa South Council Area on the 2022 Abia Women’s August Delegate Conference(AWADEC).
Mrs Anyatonwu who spoke with journalists in Umuahia, shortly after the Abia Women’s August Delegate Conference,held at the International Conference Centre, first of all appreciated God for keeping the women alive to witness this year’s conference.

According to her, the event calls for celebration,as many women who witnessed the 2021 event,are no more to witness that of 2022, therefore, “there is every reason to thank God”.
Lolo Anyatonwu who also doubles as the ALGON chairperson, commended the wife of the Governor, Mrs Nkechi Ikpeazu,for piloting the affairs of the women in the right direction.
According to her, the leadership of Mrs Ikpeazu,has helped in changing the narrative of the yearly August meeting from what it used to be,to become a time when women across the 17 LGAs converge to discuss issues relating to their welfare and that of their communities.
She applauded the wife of the Governor, for putting modalities in place to ensure the 2022 AWADEC is held, in spite of the conflicting challenges.
Mrs Anyatonwu, however, promised to replicate all that was discussed at the Delegate Conference to other women at the rural areas during the Isialangwa South LGA August meeting.
She expounded that the August meeting is simply a time where women in different local areas come together to discuss their welfare and that of their communities, showcase their rich cultural heritage,as well as,display their local delicacies.
The ALGON chairperson further assured that she would drive home all that were discussed at the AWADEC to women of her Local Government, during the Area’s August meeting.
Meanwhile, she disclosed that come 2023, the People’s Democratic Party, would record a landslide victory at the polls, promised to mobilize women of the area to vote massively for PDP.
In her words,”We are not scared of elections.We have been doing it.This time,i will mobilize the women massively to vote.2023 will come and end with victory for the PDP”.
