2023: Methodist Prelate Advocates For Right Candidates To Be Elected

 

The Prelate of Methodist Church Nigeria,His Eminence, Dr Samuel Kalu Uche, has advocated for Nigerians to vote in right candidates come 2023 general elections.

According to him, Nigerians should get their Permanent Voters Card ready, so they can vote their conscience accordingly.

In an interview with Newsmen, during his Apostolic Valedictory Tour to the Archdiocese of Umuahia, the Prelate said Nigerians should vote only competent candidates, stressing that this time around, personalities should be voted for and not  parties.

The Prelate maintained that Nigerians should be able to vote according to their conscience, if things must take its rightful place in the country.

He said they should get their PVCs ready to enthrone competence, change and positive leadership.

The Prelate, however, described his visit to the Archdiocese of Umuahia as exciting, trilling and fascinating, praying for the work of God to continue, yielding more souls for the kingdom.

In his view, the Umuahia Diocesan Lay President, Sir Okechukwu Ndukwe, who played host to the Prelate, congratulated the Prelate for a successful tenure as a Prelate of the Methodist church.

Sir Ndukwe stated that the essence of the Apostolic visit is in preparation of the Prelate’s retirement coming up later this year.

He said that for the past forty six (46) years, the Prelate has been serving the Church and expressed happiness he his retiring with testimonies to show.

According to Sir Ndukwe, Methodism under the Prelate gained momentum,as the church increased in all areas.

He said under the leadership of the Prelate, Methodism was able to carve a niche for itself, bringing about massive influx of souls, through Evangelism which the Prelate pursued.

“His style of leadership,made people like me to be very serious and committed to the things of God, unlike before and am very sure there are several others the Prelate influenced through his leadership style”.

“The Church will miss him, though by next month,we will be holding the National conference to elect the new Prelate of the Church.

“We do not know who will succeed him,there are qualified people that can assume the position,only God will decide”,he added.

Sir Ndukwe further revealed that His Eminence,Dr Uche, happened to be the first igbo Prelate ever since 1842, describing him as a humble and intelligent servant of God, that brought Methodism to limelight in Nigeria.

Sir Ndukwe, however, used the medium to urge Nigerians to go on their knees and pray for God to give them a leader after His heart,as only a leader sent from God can help salvage the challenges confronting the nation.
