Arochukwu LGA Chairman Endorses 2022 World Tourism Day In Abia,Says Tourism Is Key To Economy Development

 

In a bid to position Abia at the top map of the world as a tourist destination, the General Manager of the Abia State Tourism Board, Hon Onyekachi Jackie Atuluoma earlier today received in her office, the Executive Chairman of Arochukwu LGA Prince Dan Kalu, describing the visit as an honor.

Speaking during the visit, Hon Dan Kalu, described tourism as a major contributor to the economy of any national, while sighted it’s economic impact on the GDP of the nation.

The Council Boss, noted that Arochukwu LGA had the first tourism site in Abia, while stressing the need for relevant agencies to partner with Abia State Tourism Board to continuously position Abia as a tourist destination in the world. He officially endorsed the 2022 Abia Tourism day while pledging the support of the government and the good people of Arochukwu.

He used the occasion to congratulate the GM on her appointment and recent achievements in the board not forgetting her impact in the tourist sector during her stay as the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Tourism.

Earlier in her speech, the GM Hon Onyekachi Jackie Atuluoma thanked the Executive Chairman for the warm visit and promised to carry out her duties effectively as the General Manager of Abia State Tourism Board. She reeled out her achievements in office as the SSA to the Governor on Tourism, noting that she will do more in her new assignment.

She used the visit to brief the Council Boss of the 2022 World Tourism Day Celebration holding in Abia State from the 24th – 27th of September in Abia State and solicited for more support and partnership from Tourism conscience Abians.
