NSCDC Charges New Recruits to Be Good Ambassadors

The Commandant General of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Dr. Ahmed Audi, has charged 79 newly recruited men of the Corps in Enugu State Command to be good ambassadors.

Audi gave the charge on Wednesday in Enugu during the passing out parade for the 2019 recruit of NSCDC.

Audi was represented by the Zonal Commander, Zone K, comprising, Anambra and Enugu, Mr. Felix .O. Oke.

The NSCDC boss urged the personnel to ensure they armed themselves with the extant laws establishing the corps during their service.

He commended the lucky officials for the successful completion of six months basic training and urged them to perform their duties with dedication and commitment.

Audi noted that Nigeria now needed more efficient and proactive security operatives to check incidences of insecurity.

The Zonal Commander urged the newly recruited men to be professional in the discharge of their duties and place the interest of the nation above self.

He commended the instructors for their efforts in shaping the recruits physically and mentally, while urging them to obey the rules of engagement.

“They have all worked tremendously hard to acquire the basic knowledge with the relevant skills to successfully resolve any on-duty demands placed upon them.

“I wish you well in your resolve to support the nation’s security architecture with your physical and intellectual strength,” he said.

Earlier in an address, the new Commandant, NSCDC Enugu State Command, Mr. Aloysius Obiorah Udemadu, commended the Commandant General, and his management team for providing the necessary assistance throughout the training period.

“This is perfectly in sync with the vision of our amiable Commandant General Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, who is determined to engender a rebirth in the Civil Defence by churning out a crop of Civil Defence Officers and men with a mindset that is Service oriented, while maintaining professionalism and intergrity at all times,” the state Commandant said.

Mr. Udemadu urged the newly engaged personnel to put all that they were taught into practice as they commenced service.

“I say be strong and determined as you begin a worthy career today knowing that you do not stand alone, but with a community of people who love a united Nigeria where peace and justice shall reign,”he told them with love.

Mr. Udemadu said the trainees were subjected to the most arduous training and testing to ensure that they become refined gentlemen that would help forge the NSCDC vision of putting to work efficiency, humility and intergrity in service delivery.

“It is needless to say that the security challenges bedeviling our nation must be met head on by officers and men that are prepared to courageously take up the task of defending the defenseless; being equipped mentally and physically and with a revived up morale that shuns corruption and promotes patriotic service,”he said.

Highlight of the occasion was presentation of award to outstanding new recruits, including the immediate past Commandant, NSCDC, Enugu State Command, Mr. Valentine Afrika Ezenyimulu.

The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Nigeria Police, Air Force, Nigeria Customs Service, Department of State Services, Nigeria Immigration Service and Nigerian Correctional Service, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and the National Agency for Prohibition of Traffic in Persons (NAPTIP).
