The Assistant General Overseer of National Evangelical Mission, Bishop Daniel I. K. Egboka, has urged Christians to make it a duty to get their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) within current Continuous Voters Registration (CVR).
Egboka made the call on Sunday while delivering a sermon at National Evangelical Mission (Church), Maryland in Enugu at the 13th edition of “Now is the Time Programme”.
This year’s theme of the programme is: “Be Strong”.
The cleric, who spoke on the topic: “The Dynamism of Christianity”, noted that “it is time to take action” and add action to prayers made all these years for the transformation and progress of the country.
According to him, I am not a politician or campaigning for anyone but I know there is a need for Christians to participate actively in the forthcoming 2023 General Election and make the right choices to salvage this nation.
“Nigeria as a nation belongs to God and He wants us to arise and take the necessary positive steps to salvage it.
“As 2023 General Election is coming, make sure you take the right steps and actions. Make sure you take action.
“Make sure you get your voters’ cards. It is time for action as well as fervent prayers to change the socio-economic tide of the country.
“We have the right to vote for right choices and change the way things are going in this country.
“You must have your prayers in your right hand and your PVCs in your left hand,” he said.
On the theme of the programme: “Be Strong”, the bishop said that Christians must develop strong faith in God Almighty, “Who is the Father of all possibilities”.
“You must grow in faith and get to know Him and while He is called the God of all possibilities over all situations,” he said.
Earlier, the Reverend Oluchukwu Onuigwe, Pastor-in-Charge of National Evangelical Mission Church, Maryland in Enugu, said that the “Now is the Time Programme” had been one of the flagship programmes of the church that had impacted lives.
Onuigwe said: “The programme is used to revive and quicken the faith of brethren to get deeply rooted in their conviction in serving the Lord and living righteous and holy lives.
“Coincidentally, it came up at a time when Bishop Daniel Egboka, the Assistant General Overseer of National Evangelical Mission, came for a pastoral and apostolic visit and we have been richly blessed by all that happened within these five days.”
