2023: Abia Central Senatorial District To Receive Quality Representation As Akobundu Clinches PDP Ticket

 

 

The people of Abia Central Senatorial District have been assured of quality representation come 2023, as the immediate past National Organizing Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party, Col Austin Akobundu (Rtd),clinches party ticket to represent the people of Abia Central District at the senate.

Col Austin Akobundu who defeated two other Aspirants, Chief Chuku Wachuku,Engr Ihuoma Iwuzor,was declared the winner of the PDP Abia Central Senatorial Primary Election,held at the indoor sports complex of the Umuahia Township Stadium, having pulled 186 votes out of the total votes cast.

In an interview with the press,shortly after being declared the winner of the election by the Returning officer,Elder Amah Abraham, Col Akobundu, expressed joy over the victory, assuring his constituents of quality representation.

The Rtd Army Colonel who revealed that he is not ignorant of the challenges that come with being a flag bearer of a party, said he is ready and willing to crush those challenges to emerge the winner of the 2023 general elections.

Delegates cueing to vote

He later described his victory as a ‘Victory for All’, assuring to bring on board his fellow contestants at the primary election, so as to achieve party’s aims and objectives.

The PDP Abia Central Candidate, however, disclosed the need to reconcile with aggrieved aspirants,ahead of the general election so that the party can record landslide victory come 2023.

Meanwhile,Akobundu thanked the delegates for reposing great confidence on him,which he vowed not to defeat.

As one big family, that has one focus,purpose and vision, Col Akobundu reiterated his resolve to make consenting efforts in bringing on board aspirants that contested with him.

In an interview with the Returning Officer, Elder Amah Abraham,said the election was free and fair, disclosing that with the records available to him, three aspirants contested for the election.

While Chief Chuku Wachuku and Engr Ihuoma Iwuzor, pulled one vote each, Col Akobundu pulled a total of 186 votes, leaving him as the winner of the contest.

Elder Abraham also commended the peaceful disposition of the delegates, which he said contributed to the success of the election.
