Abia State Deputy Governor, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu has commended his Boss and Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu for his partnership and support to the Abia State University Uturu, which has enable it to retain it’s centre of Excellence Status.
Sir Oko Chukwu who made the commendation when he received in audience Executive members of the Abia State University Alumni Association at his Government House,Lodge, Umuahia stressed the need for Alumnus of the University to make it their responsibility of projecting activities of their Alma mater by giving back their lots to improve the intellectual and infrastructural development of their citadel of learning.
The Deputy Governor and an Alumni of the University appreciated the Executives and members of Abia State University Alumni Association for the honour done him as well as their kind felicitations and promised to always live up to expectations by remaining a worthy Ambassador of the University in projecting and living out the standard of the great citadel of learning.
Earlier in his remarks, the Chairman, Abia State University Alumni Association, Prof Mac Ogbuagu who pointed out that they are privileged to have the Deputy Governor as their member, said they will always believe in his ability to excel in governance and urged him not to hesitate to call on them whenever their assistance is needed .
The visit which featured the presentation of an award of honour to the Deputy Governor for his many years of devotion and dedication to service, as well his commitment and contribution to the over all development of Abia and the University attracted the presence of the Permanent Secretary, Government House, Mr Alozie Odoemelam, and other top Government Officials.
