The Rivers State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Abu Abdu Tambuwal has warned officers of the command officers against complacency and unprofessional acts.
The NSCDC State Commandant gave the warning while addressing officers at the Command’s headquarters in Port Harcourt following the inferno that razed down the its exhibit yard last week.
Tambuwal who urged the officers to remain firm, resilient, determined and courageous while discharging their duties, said the fight against vandalism, operation of illegal refineries and other criminalities would henceforth take a new shape.
He warned that the Command under his watch will not tolerate indiscipline and any action that is inimical to the cooperate existence of the Corps and her statutory mandates.
According to him, “The nefarious and unscrupulous activities of saboteurs will not in any form dissuade the Command, as strategic efforts are now put in place to forestall future incidents of inferno in the command exhibit yards.
“Although the saboteurs might feel contented with the inferno that razed down the Iriebe exhibit yard but the outcome of the ongoing investigation would bring to book any identified culprits within and outside the Corps.
“We are not unaware that some saboteurs have expressed their excitements about the recent occurrence however, I charge you all to remain firm and courageous. Trust no one, stay focused and man your duty post 24 Hours.
“Our determination to rid this State of economic saboteurs remains unwavering. We will go after them, pursue them to their domain and dislodge their illegal refineries and I assure you that God will grant us victory”.
“To enhance productivity and job proficiency there must be movements of personnel from one duty location to another and this must not be interpreted as suffering but opportunities to develop individual potentials in order to scale greater heights. Life is transient and embroidered with both ups and downs because without a story their is no glory; hence all officers transferred out of the Command must proceed to their new locations without further delay”, he said.
