Ohuhu Traditional Rulers Distance Self From Abia Zoning Arrangement

 

 

 

Ndi-Eze Ohuhu of Umuahia North LGA as a whole have distanced themselves from a statement made by the leader of a 7 Man Traditional Rulers of Ohuhu extraction wherein Eze Nnamdi Ofoegbu of Umudiawa Autonomous community informed Governor Okezie Ikpeazu that Ohuhu council of Traditional Rulers are solidly behind zoning the 2023 Governorship seat to the Ngwa extraction of Abia South senatorial district.

Recall that the 7 Man Traditional Rulers of Ohuhu extraction led by Eze Ofoegbu were in Government House Umuahia last week during a courtesy visit to Governor Ikpeazu stated that since Old Bende Division has produced Abia Governor for 16 years, it was natural that the Ukwa/Ngwa block be allowed to produce the next Governor in 2023 to ensure equity and balance in the State.

In a statement signed and made available to newsmen in Umuahia by Eze Nzenwata Mbakwe, Eze Iheanyichukwu Nwokenna, Eze Bobby Aguocha, Eze Emezue, Eze Daniel Ukaegbu, Eze Victor Onuoha among others, the Monarchs informed that they did not at any time discussed nor agreed on the zoning of Abia Governorship position to any section of the state as such a sensitive political matter is not their responsibility.

The Monarchs stated that the 7 Eze’s who embarked on such a visit to the Government House did so for their selfish interest and not for the collective interest the Ohuhu council nor for the larger Ohuhu interest.

They further informed that in view of the reasons adduced, they are disassociating themselves from the utterances of this group of 7 Traditional Rulers regarding the zoning and urged all Abians to disregard such.

They used the opportunity to commend Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for his giant strides in various sectors of the State economy and assured him of their continued support and prayers at all times.
