Expectations,as Abia inaugurates new council of Ndi-eze

 

The 8th session of the Abia State Council of Traditional Rulers has been inaugurated with traditional rulers stating their expectations from the new crop of executive.

Our reporter who interacted with some royal fathers at the Michael Okpara Auditorium,venue of the event, said that most of the traditional rulers expect the new council to bring drastic change to the traditional institution, pointing out that the 8th Assembly of the council of Ndieze would do better than previous ones.

Speaking with the Traditional ruler of Umuobasiukwu,Ozuitem in Bende Local Government Area, Eze John Akaliro, disclosed that the new breed of executive would do well, as the new chairman, Eze Amara Nwabekee, is a disciplined personality, that wants things done correctly.

Also,the traditional ruler of Okoko-item Autonomous Community, Eze Ikoro Ugochikoro,said even though he is part of the council inaugurated,assured Abians that the new set of executive would guide the government rightly by giving them advise on how to pilot to the state.

On the issue of the welfare of the traditional rulers, Eze Ikoro lamented over the poor welfare given to ndieze in the state, saying that the government should step up the stipend given to traditional rulers,to enable them meet up with some of their needs.

He disclosed that Abia has the worst welfare system in the whole federation, pleading with the government under the leadership of Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, to look into their plea.He added that his community is doing well infrastructurally.

The Traditional Ruler of Azueke,Ndume, Eze Emmanuel Onwubuariri, further showed confidence on the new leadership of ndieze, adding that already they have started well, enjoining them not to relent but take seriously the welfare of the traditional council.

Eze Onwubuariri revealed that Local government autonomy is the only way out of the poor welfare given to ndieze, pleading for government to remember them for the good of the traditional institution and the state.
