CLUB WORLD CUP: Chelsea Emerge Champions

European Champions, Chelsea have won their first Club World Cup after defeating the South American champions, Palmeiras of Brazil 2-1 in extra time.

Kai Havertz settled the encounter with a 117th-minute penalty. It was Romelu Lukau who opened scoring for the Blues after the first half had ended goalless.

Raphael Veiga restored parity from the spot before Kai Havertz scored the winner after Palmeiras defender Luan was sent off.

Recall that it was Kai Havertz who scored the only goal in the Champions League victory which qualified Chelsea for this competition.
