Sen T.A Orji Lauds Unity Club For Fostering Peace In Abia

The Senator representing Abia Central Senatorial District, Chief T.A Orji, has hailed the members of Unity Club on their 15th year anniversary celebration and as well, helping to foster unity and peace in Abia.

Speaking at the event held at the Central School Obohia, Ndoki, Ukwa East Local Government Area, of Abia State, the Senator represented by the former Chairman of Umuahia North Local Government Area, Comr Lucky Akabuike, charged the members to remain united,as unity brings peace,progress and development.

The Senator disclosed that he is happy to identify himself with a group that preaches unity and peace, stating that unity is sine qua non to development.

He commended the leaders, as well as the members for sustaining the club for fifteen years, which according to him,shows their ability to manage both human and material resources.

The Senator, however, commended the numerical strength of the association, pointing out that anyone can win any election with their support.

Chief T.A Orji further advised the indigenes of Ukwa East Local Government to guide diligently the secretariat of the PDP that their son, Rt Hon Asiforo Okere is chairing and ensure that the activities of the party go smoothly through the various senatorial zones.

In his remarks the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Rt.Hon Chinedum Orji,who was represented by the Deputy Majority Leader,Hon Taribo Paul, thanked the people of Ndoki for their support so far made, commending the efforts of the founder of the club,Rt Hon Emeka Stanley for his leadership style which has kept the club intact and growing for the past fifteen years.

In their Separate Speeches, the former Senate President, Adolphus Wabara, the Commissioner for Sports, Hon Karibe Ojigwe, an illustrious son of Ukwa East, Chief Chris Nkwonta, the PDP Chairman Ukwa East,Chief Okechi Nwaohu and Comrade Christian Ofomadu who represented Prof Gregory Ibe,congratulated the members of the Unity Club on their anniversary and urged them to continue in their support for the Governor of the state who has given enough dividend of democracy to the people of Ukwa East Local Government Area.

Earlier in his welcome address, the founder of the Club, Rt Hon Emeka Stanley, said the club is formed to allow democracy and consistency, adding that the vision of the club is to help create awareness for PDP.

He said the club is celebrating its 15th year anniversary alongside the developmental strides of the Governor in the area and other parts of Abia.

Rt Hon Stanley said that several road projects in the area,as well as in Aba have been done, adding that the Ndoki-Asa road would start soon.

He further added that the club will not hide its support from their Son,Rt Hon Asiforo Okere,the current PDP state chairman, promising to give him the necessary tools/materials and cooperation to propel Abia PDP to a greater height.

The Leader of the Club, however, thanked the former Governor of Abia State,Chief T.A Orji,for allowing equity to play in the state, describing him as the grand master of Equity in Abia, praying for equity to prevail come 2023, so as to balance anger and development.

He pledged the group’s continuous support to the Governor of the state.
