Ikpeazu Inspects Road Projects, Assures Timely Completion

 

 

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, Wednesday, commenced inspection of some ongoing road projects in Aba, including the Osisioma interchange,Okpu-Umuobo and Ahiaba-Umueze roads, expressing optimism that the projects would be delivered soon.

 

The Governor who expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work done at the various sites, commended the contractors for a job well done.

 

Governor Ikpeazu while describing the Okpu-Umuobo-Mgboko road as strategic and of great economic importance to Aba, the business hub of the state noted that the road would serve as a major bypass connecting Aba-Owerri Road to Obikabia.

He said; “The Okpu-Umuobo-Mgboko road is a major bypass capable of cutting off the traffic from Aba- Owerri road and people can access the road to Umuahia and Ikot-Ekpene.

“This is one of the strategic road with a lot of promising economic significance. Quality wise, the contractors are doing well and soon this road would be delivered”.

 

National Ambassador reporter who was part of the inspection visit observed that work is currently ongoing at the various sites visited.

At the Okpu-Umuobo-Mgboko road, it was observed that Earth work has been done on the entire road with stone base up to the half of the entire distance of the road while asphalting is currently ongoing.
