A report released by the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) has shown that the English Premier League clubs are the highest spenders in 2021 transfer.
Seven of the 10 most expensive deals involved players moving to England. No wonder English clubs spent over £1 billion on International transfers.
These deals include £97.5 million Chelsea lavished on Romelu Lukaku and £73 million Manchester United spent on bringing Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund.
However, Manchester City’s £100 million spending on Jack Grealish is not included in these figures as the transfer was within the English Premier League.
The top five clubs in international transfers in 2021 are Manchester United, Chelsea, RB Leipzig, Roma and Arsenal.
According to the report English clubs spent £1.01 billion, followed by the Italian Serie A clubs, who paid £667.7 million while the Major Soccer League of the United States, the only non-European League in the top 10 spenders, spent £116.39 million.
