Ahead of Villarreal and Manchester United encounter tonight in the UEFA Champions League, Unai Emery, Villarreal manager is expecting a tough match against Manchester United despite the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solkjaer over the weekend.
In a press conference, the former Arsenal manager said, “They will find an extra motivation as it’s the Champions League. We know they are a strong team.
“They need to win and I don’t think there will be many changes. Perhaps certain tactical ones will be made, but we must be prepared to play against Cristiano Ronaldo, [Harry] Maguire, Bruno Fernandes, [David] De Gea and all the other great players that United has.”
United and Villarreal are both on seven points with two matches to go. The winner of this encounter will most likely win the group.
In the reverse fixture, Manchester United defeated Villarreal 2-1.
Meanwhile, United will be without Paul Pogba, who is suffering a thigh injury, and Raphael Varane, who is battling a hamstring injury. Mason Greenwood has tested positive for Covid-19 while Edinson Cavani is still nursing a tendon injury.
Villarreal on their part, will most likely be without Gerard Moreno, who is yet to fully recover from a hamstring injury.
