ENASCO: A Lifetime Legacy Of Gov Ikpeazu Says Senate President

The president of the Senate of Federal Republic of Nigeria, Sen. Ahmad Lawan, has commended Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu in his commitment in promoting Made-in-Aba products and the establishment of Enyimba Automated Shoe Factory.

Senator Lawan who spoke during the commissioning of Enyimba Automated Shoe Company(ENASCO), lauded Gov. Ikpeazu, for embarking on this life transforming project, stating that “We must Nigerianise what we consume.” He said this will remain a life legacy for his administration.

The Senate President, who promised to show commitment in making sure the project receives the needed backing of National Assembly and Federal Government, called on all the Federal Agencies of Government to support and project the vision of Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu. Nigeria must embark in a must input substitution through local production to remain a prosperous country.

For him, ” We cannot continue to import everything into Nigeria, we don’t even have foreign reserve anymore. So, this project in addition to providing employment in Abia directly, will indirectly provide jobs at the leather industries in other state.”

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, earlier in his speech, stated that Enyimba Automated Shoe Company(ENASCO), will not only reduce unemployment but position Nigeria into the leather industry ecosystem and increase revenue generation of the country.

According to Ikpeazu, ” it is only through the patronizing of our products that we can revitalize our economy and be self-sufficient”. The Governor used the medium to announce the sister factory ” Automated Garment Factory”, said ” we are looking forward to compete with Vietnam and Bangladesh in the supply chain of garment across the world.”

Ikpeazu, while thanking President Buhari, for the commissioning of the Ariaria International Power Plant, promised very soon Aba will witness uninterrupted power supply through Geometric and Ariaria International Power Plant.

Among those on the Senate President’s train, includes; the Chief Whip of the Senate, Sen. Orji Uzo Kalu, Sen. T. A Orji, other Senators, Federal House Members from Abia State and other dignitaries.
