Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike (MOUAU) community have been charged to maintain an atmosphere of righteousness for the glory of God to manifest upon the institution.
Prof. Greg Onwuka who gave this charge during the October edition of ‘MOUAU Prays’, held at the Senator Anyim Pius Anyim Auditorium of the University recently, advised all staff and students to embrace righteousness so that the glory of God can reign in the institution.
In his sermon entitled: ‘Planting the Seed of Righeousness’, the Clergy frowned at the unprecedented level of extortion, wickedness and hypocrisy exhibited by some staff of the University.
Contributing, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Udo Herbert, representing the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Madu Ofo Iwe, enjoined all staff to live righteously to be good ambassadors of the University. He challenged Deans and Heads of Departments to be the eyes of the Vice-Chancellor by checkmating the prevalent evil trends, including heavy extortions perpetuated by some staff of the University. The DVC used the gathering to advise staff yet to be vaccinated against Covid-19 to do so, stressing the need to adhere to all Covid-19 preventive measures.
Special prayers were offered for the Management, Staff and Students of the University.
Prayers were also made for the financial upliftment of the University and for the country at large.
