From Cairo to Cape Town, Lagos to Luanda, Dakar to Dar Salam, the continent of Africa is on fire as double-header of match day three and four of the Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifiers hold across the continent.
GROUP A
It is a two horse race between Algeria and Burkina Faso with both teams having a win and a draw. As Algeria take on Niger Republic and Burkina Faso lurk horns with Djibouti. The team that drops fewer points in this double-header will take control of the group.
Djibouti is so far the whipping boys of the group with no point. Niger Republic can bounce back to reckoning having gotten three points already, they need to shock the African champions to stand any reasonable chance of progressing to the round.
GROUP B
The Carthage Eagles of Tunisia are firmly in control of this group with two wins out of two. As they take on Mauritania, who are yet to get a single point, Tunisia are in a best position to take absolute control of the group.
However, second placed Copper Bullets of Zambia will be hoping to defeat Equatorial Guinea in both matches in order to keep up the pressure on leaders Tunisia.
GROUP C
The Super Eagles of Nigeria are the landlords in this group with two wins out of two and goal difference of three. Their destiny is in their hands as they take on bottom placed Central African Republic who have only a single point. The three time African champions only need to win both matches to remain in control.
Liberia will be going for six points as they clash with Cape Verde and hope that Nigeria slip so they can take control of the group.
GROUP D
The Elephants of Ivory Coast and the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon are battling for supremacy in this group while the Flames of Malawi are not relenting in their push to upturn both super powers in African football.
Meanwhile, Ivory Coast is leading with four points, Cameroon and Malawi have three points respectively while Mozambique have a single point. Cameroon will attempt to devour Mozambique, while the Flames of Malawi attempt to consume the Elephants of Ivory Coast.
GROUP E
The Eagles of Mali is leading this group with four points and will confront second placed Harambe Stars of Kenya, who have only two points.
Cranes of Uganda will lurk horns with Rwanda as both teams vie to better their third and fourth positions respectively.
GROUP F
The battle between Libya and Egypt will definitely decide the winner of this group. The other pairing will see Gabon and Angola go head to head.
Surprisingly, Libya is topping the group with six points, followed by Egypt with four points, Gabon have one point while Angola are still searching for their first goal and first point.
GROUP G
Bafana Bafana of south Africa are currently leading this group with four points closely followed by the Black Stars of Ghana and Ethiopia with three points respectively while the Warriors of Zimbabwe are yet to act as Warriors as they have only one point.
Ghana will hope to take all six points as they confront Zimbabwe while South Africa will have a bigger challenge as they tread tackles with hard fighting Ethiopia.
GROUP H
The Teranga Lions of Senegal will hope to consolidate their grip on this group as they take on Brave Warriors of Namibia, while Hawks of Togo will attempt to feed on Congo.
Senegal are tops with maximum six points, Namibia are second with four points, congo and Togo are placed third and fourth with one and no point respectively.
GROUP I
The Atlas Lions of Morocco and Guinea-Bissau will lurk horns for the control of this group. Meanwhile, Guinea-Bissau is leading the group with four points. Morocco follows closely with three points.
Guinea with a single point and in third position will lurk horns with bottom placed Sudan, who are yet to get a point.
GROUP J
Tanzania and Benin Republic will battle for the leadership of group J as both sides are tied on four points with the Taifa Stars leading with superior goals scored.
DR Congo and Madagascar, who occupy the third and fourth positions respectively will class in the group’s other match with the hope of bringing their campaign back on track.
