Establishment Of Agro Farm In Ofeme Will Reduce Unemployment, Food Scarcity, Declares Philanthropist

 

 

A Philanthropist and founder, Onyinye Ohuhu Foundation, Chief Raymond Ofoegbu has described the recent establishment of an Agro Integrated Farm in Ofeme Umuahia North LGA as a measure which would reduce the rising unemployment especially within the rural community and Abia at large.

 

Speaking to National Ambassador during the Official Opening and Commissioning of “Leimall Limited/Oge Integrated Fish Farm, Chief Ofoegbu noted that the agro based industry is capable of not only providing jobs for the teeming youths but would equally contribute to massive production of food and ensure food security within the state inline with Governor Okezie Ikpeazu’s agricultural revolution.

 

He stated that the large scale Agro Integrated Farm owned by former Nigerian Ambassador to Argentina,Empire Kanu, will sustain the state and entire South East, and serve as a boost to the agricultural sector as well as eliminate extreme poverty, Vices, hunger and malnutrition in the land.

“I am so happy, this is one of the best things that has happened to our people, Ofeme in particular, Ohuhu in general and Abia totally. I believe this has given a root to what we have been looking for in the South East, an Agro Powered Farming System which can sustain the South East Zone”.

 

Ofoegbu commended Ambassador Empire Kanu for the noble idea of setting up the multi million naira project in Ofeme Community which he said has demonstrated his love and patriotism to his home community and state.

 

He enjoined other wealthy individuals and entrepreneurs to emulate the wise decision taken by one of their illustrious sons in establishing his investment home.

 

The Philanthropist called on the state government to revive the Ulonna North settlement established by the adminstration of late Dr. Micheal Okpara’s Defunct Eastern Region.

In his remarks,the Member representing Umuahia North state constituency Chief Kelechi Onuzuruike said that the event marks a beginning for food security in Abia State and the South East region in general and urged the younger generation to take advantage of the project to advance their fortunes.

 

Earlier in his remarks, the Chief marketing officer, Leilmall Farms, Emmanuel Nwusulor said the farm was established to take the lead on agricultural revolution in the country starting from the South East while the fish farm would provide fish production to the zone and it’s environs.

 

According to him, the agricultural clusters which would be replicated in the 95 local government areas of the South East is expected to train and offer employment to about 2000 youths.

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu represented by his Deputy, Ude Oko Chukwu,The state Commissioner of Police, CP Janet Agbade, State chairman, People’s Democratic Party PDP, Asiforo Okere and stakeholders in the Abia Polity were among dignitaries that attended the event.
