Erugo Hails Onyenma Over Book On Ikpeazu

The Dean, Faculty of Law, Abia State University, Uturu, (ABSU), Prof. Sampson Erugo (SAN), has commended Elder Kennedy Okechukwu Onyenma for writing a book on Abia State Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, describing it as brilliant.

In his review of the book, Prof. Erugo who stated this during the unveiling of the 285 paged book, entitled: ‘Recollected in Tranquility: A Festschrift for Okezie Victor Chibuikem Ikpeazu PhD, held in Umuahia, recently, disclosed that the book as a major contribution to knowledge on the political leadership of Abia State.

Represented by a Reader of Law, Faculty of Law, ABSU, Dr. Hagler Okorie, he maintained that the author’s writing is eloquent and understandable,
The reviewer, further commended Elder Onyenma for contributing to the understanding of the man, Okezie Ikpeazu, as governor of Abia State.
This, he said, is a relevant contribution to our political history, and applauded the author for the effort in producing this compendium.
The Professor of Law further expressed hope that the second edition will come at the completion of the Governors second term for a holistic assessment and also include the complementary roles played by the wife of the Abia State Governor, Deaconess Nkechi Ikpeazu.
In his remarks, the chief unveiler of the book and the CEO, Fortune Global Shipping, Chief Eric Opah, has described the unveiling of the book as apt, insisting that the book is a must read for anyone who truly wants to understand the person of Gov. Ikpeazu.
Opah added that most times, the way the populace see people in authority is entirely different from whom they truly are, hence, the huge need to read the book.

Meanwhile, the author of the book, Elder Onyenma has maintained that the sole aim of the book is to correct in print; wicked falsehood sponsored by some disgruntled groups, of the society against Gov. Ikpeazu, with the aim of maligning his person, and showcase the real humane image of the governor.

“To also reveal his proclivity for hardwork, his inherent passion for humanity, his depth of tolerance, warmth, compassion, candor and pre-disposition to peace and unity among others”, he explained.
The author further disclosed that Gov. Ikpeazus crave for massive infrastructural turnaround, his passion for indigenous made-in-Aba products and the insatiable appetite to restore the lost glory of Aba, the commercial nerve centre of Abia as the Japan of Africa among others necessitated the huge need for the book.

In a related development, the editor of Africa Heritage Times, Mr. Victor Nwokocha, adding that the book is a long overdue compendium, adding that it would serve as a historical and research material.
