Lawmaker Lauds NEMA for Providing Relief Materials to his Constituents

The Minority Whip and member representing Arochukwu State Constituency in the Abia House of Assembly, Hon. Mike Ukoha, has lauded the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), for providing relief materials to Isu community, in Arochukwu LGA.

The Minority Whip, who stated this, during the flag off of the materials in Umuahia, specifically thanked the member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency, Hon. Uko Nkole, for the synergy which is existing between the two of them and for raising the motion, which brought about what is being witnessed, and urged him never to relent in his good works.

He hinted that on the 16th of March, 2020, a delegation from the Abia State House of Assembly, visited the Deputy Governor of Cross River State and members of Cross River State House of Assembly, over the crises between Isu and their neighboring Utuma/Ukwa clan.

The lawmaker further stated that a six points communique, was reached at the end of the meeting, and expressed delight that soon, the crises will be brought to an end.

In his welcome address at the flag off, the Executive Secretary State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Mr. Jackson Sunday, thank NEMA, and Hon. Uko Nkole for providing the relief materials.

He noted that the materials, is to cushion the effect of disaster, occasioned by the crises in Isu community, adding that the Federal Government is mindful of Isu people.

Also speaking at the occasion, the Head of Operation Owerri NEMA office, Mr. Evans Ugoh, thanked God for making the community to get the palliatives.

He thanked the member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency, Hon. Uko Nkole and the member representing Arochukwu State Constituency, Hon. Dr. Mike Ukoha, for their efforts, saying that they have goods hearts for their people.

The NEMA boss, however explained that the issue is a boundary matter and call on the National Boundary Commission to ensure they delineate the boundary, so that peace will reign.

On his part, the Senator representing Abia North in the Senate, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, who was represented by Rev. Mrs. Jemima Ola Kalu, expressed delight in what took place.

She explained that Senator Kalu, is putting up permanent solutions, by discussing with the National Boundary Commission (NBC), so as to end the boundary issues.

In his address, the member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency, Hon. Uko Nkole, emphasised on peace, saying that peace is a vital thing in life.

He recalled that on February, 20th, 2020, he raised a motion calling on President Muhammadu Buhari, to call on NBC to delineate the boundary between Isu community and their neighboring clans in Cross River.

Hon. Nkole, added that he is happy that one of the prayers, which is the provision of relief materials by NEMA, has been granted.

He thanked the Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, Speaker House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, and Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, for their efforts.

Responding, the Secretary General Isu Development Union (IDU), Engr. Amarachi Kalu, thanked both SEMA and NEMA for their untiring efforts.

He also thanked Hon. Uko Nkole and Hon. Dr. Mike Ukoha, for the good job they are doing, and promised to ensure that the materials, will be distributed accordingly.
