The Ukwa la Ngwa Elders council, has insisted “come 2023 General election, ukwa la Ngwa will complete it’s 16 years tenure and retain the Governorship seat, warning that no son of the ukwa/Ngwa extraction should accept the position of deputy governor irrespective of the political party affiliations.
The meeting which was held at the isialangwa North local Government council, attracted stakeholders from the old Aba Bloc, the leader of the Elders council, Dr Max Nduaguibe, deputy leader, Rt. Hon Eric Acho Nwakanma, as well the traditional rulers within the bloc.
According to the leader of the Elders council, Dr Max Nduaguibe, explained how governance been in Abia State since it’s creation, and pointed out that Abia State was carved out of the old Imo State, all the past leaders, Adminstration were all from old Bende.
Nduaguibe further revealed that two former governors of the state, Governor orji uzo and senator Theodore Orji, who governed for eight years respectively are all from old Bende, thus making the block to be in power for 16 years.
Ukwa la Ngwa stakeholders, therefore, insisted that after Dr Ikpeazu eight years, power would be retained in the bloc for another eight years to complete their own turn, adding that no son or daughter, regardless party affiliation will accept the position of Deputy Governor.
Also speaking, the spokesperson for isialangwa south, osisioma LGA, Hon prince k.o mgbeahuru and Hon chinwe Nwanganga, said it will be fair if the old Aba zone complete the same number of years as the old Bende has done.
The ukwa la Ngwa Elders council however, passed a vote of confidence on Governor okezie Ikpeazu whose tenure deserve commendation, having preformed more than the past Governors
