Gov. Ikpeazu Commissions, Flags off Construction Of More Roads In Abia

As part of his administration’s infrastructural development drive aimed at fast tracking widespread socioeconomic growth in Abia State, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has said he will continue to give facelifts to roads in both rural and urban centers of the state.

The Governor who stated this at the commissioning of the 22.5KM  Agalaba Ring Road and the 4. KM Ntigha-Umuopara-Amano Road in Obingwa Local Government Area of the state, also pledged the commitment of his administration to leave Abia better than he met it.

Ikpeazu  equally flagged off the construction of the 4.2 Km Amano-Mbaukwu Road, as well as the phase 3 of the Agalaba Ring Road Project from Ward 11 to 13,  also in Obingwa Local Government.

He noted that the roads will advance the economic fortune of the rural dwellers especially women of the community who are predominantly farmers.

Governor Ikpeazu assured that his administration would rebuild the Umuaro – Ekwereazu – Nto Edino Road in Obingwa LGA constructed by his administration which has provided a strategic linkage between Abia and Akwa Ibom states.

While noting that the Umuaro-Ekwereazu-Nto Edino Road has served both the people the economy creditably in the last couple of years, Governor Ikpeazu assured that it would be rebuilt to a standard that will comfortably fit the nature of traffic on the road adding that it will not be abandoned under any circumstances whatsoever.

Governor Ikpeazu urged the youths of the areas were construction work would commence to continue in their support for the state government as well as coorperate and protect the construction workers and their materials.

Member representing Obingwa East in the State House of Assembly, Solomon Akpulonu and his counterpart, Thomas Nkoro lauded the Governor for his administration’s infrastructural drive across the state.

In their separate speeches, the state Chairman of the peoples Democratic party PDP, Chief Alwell Asiforo Okere and the Commissioner for works Dr Bob Ogu, expressed optimism that at the end of Governor Ikpeazu’s tenure in 2023 , history will record his name as the highest in infrastructural development describing the gesture as a trademark of the PDP.

Earlier in his speech the Chairman, Obingwa Local Government Area, Mr. Micheal Ibe Nwoke
expressed the unalloyed support of the people to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu led administration whom he described as their own,noting that the gesture will greatly advance the economic fortunes of the people.

Speaking on behalf of the leaders of Mgboko Umuanuanu, the Special Adviser to the Governor, Enyinnaya Appolos commended Governor Ikpeazu for bringing democracy dividends to the grassroots in addition to making infrastructural development in Abia a priority.

The Deputy Governor of the State, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu,Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Chief Uche Ihediwa, Members of the Abia State Council of Traditional Rulers, members of the Clergy and Leaders of Civil Society Organizations were present during the event.
