As the third son of the ex governor of Abia state and serving senator, representing the good people of Abia Central District,Sen Theodore Orji, raps up the exchange of his marital vows today, notable Abians who graced the occasion have advised the newly wedded couple to allow tolerance and love lead in their union.
In an interview with newsmen shortly after the church wedding ceremony held at the International Conference Center (ICC) Umuahia,the Abia state capital,an event which attracted top political bigwigs across Nigeria, including the Governor of Enugu State,Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi,Sen Rabiu Kwankwaso,Minister of Mines and Steel,Dr Uche Ogah,Deputy Governor of Imo State,Prof Placid Njoku,Deputy Governor of Abia State,Rt Hon Ude Oko Chukwu, Members of National Assembly,as well as Members of Abia State House of Assembly, Secretary to the Abia State Government, Commissioners of the state, Local Government Chairmen, Traditional rulers, Clergymen among others, the Minister of Mines and Steel,Dr Uche Ogah,advised the newly wedded couple to adhere strictly to message of the preacher,which borders on tolerance, patience and love for each other.
The Minister stated that these factors are key to their marital success, therefore,they should not toy with them,praying God to bless their union with children.
The Secretary to the State Government,Barr Chris Ezem,said he came to share in the joy of the family of Sen T. A Orji, who made great contributions to the development of Abia State,while he was the governor. He urged the couple to endure each other,as marriage is about tolerance, perseverance and love.
The immediate past commissioner of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs,Sir Gabriel Onyedilenfu and his Education counterpart,Dr Kanelechi Nwangwa revealed that marriage is a difficult institution that involves two individuals that have their different Idiosyncrasies, adding that if the two parties involved could adjust to each other,rather than seek ways to change their partners,then the union would be peaceful.
The Chief Executive Officer of Bawas Group,Royal High Chief Uche Akwukwuegbu advised Mr and Mrs Chiemeka Orji to thrive to make their home peaceful,so they could attract God’s presence in their home at all times.
Chief Akwukwuegbu while wishing the couple long life and success in all their endeavors,enjoined those that are planning to settle down to plan according to their available resources, rather than use Chiemeka Orji’s wedding which was a societal wedding, as a blueprint for their own,so that they won’t go borrowing.
In their separate speeches,Hon Prince K.O Mgbeahuru,a former commissioner of Works who served under the Sen T.A Orji’s Governorship administration alongside Rt.Hon Chidiebere Nwoko,former Commissioner of Public Utilities,advised the couple to take it easy with each other, stating that marriage is usually very blissful at the beginning but as it advances, challenges begin to set in.They pointed out that the only way to surmount these challenges is to be patient with each other and as well, avoiding a third party into the family.
Also, a family member of the Orji’s family,Elder Innocent Nmesirionye,wished the couple well,revealing that Chiemeka Orji is very dear to him,as he was the one that took care of him right from childhood.
Similarly, the Mother of the bride,Lady Ngozi Amadiwochi,thanked God for a successful event,harped on the need for the couple to take prayers seriously,allow the love of God to abide in their home,as well as live together as one.
She prayed for her daughter to carry her children’s children.
Meanwhile,the Lead Pastor of Streams of Joy International, Pastor Jerry Eze, during his message, admonished the couple to avoid strife and any form of rift that could tamper their peaceful coexistence.
Pastor Eze revealed tolerance, love, patience as key factors that can help build a home, urging the couple to make these factors as their watch words.
He further encouraged them to guard their home against any form of gossip from third parties, saying that the couple should avoid using other people’s homes as a template, adding that no two homes are the same.
Pastor Eze, however,prayed against every negative vice that might arise against the marriage in the future.
