COVID-19: Abia Govt suspends Lockdown Grace For Easter

Abia State government has suspended the Lockdown grace extended to Christians to celebrate Easter.

The lockdown grace (6am Friday – 2pm Sunday, April 12, 2020) granted by Abia State Government to Abians and residents alike ends at 2pm today.

Consequently, the 7-day lockdown extension which took effect on Wednesday 8th day of April, 2020 before the lockdown grace continues from 2pm Sunday, 12th April to end on Friday, 17th April, 2020.

Government plans to commence fumigation of our public areas including, churches, schools, offices, markets, public buildings etc. in Abia State between Monday and Tuesday respectively.

Accordingly, the general public are hereby warned to stay at home because of the health hazards associated with this exercise and in continued compliance to the lockdown.

Security operatives and various Enforcement Teams are by this notice directed to ensure full compliance.
