Ikpeazu sacks SEMB  boss over unauthorized recruitment,sets up committee to review employment process

Following the immediate suspension of the Executive Secretary, Secondary Education Management Board (SEMB),
Arc. Lawrence Ogbonna,over alledged unauthorized and fraudulent employment at the Board,Abia State Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, has setup a committee to document all SEMB recruitment from 2018 till date.
Inuagurating the Seven man  Committee which has Dr. Mrs Kate Ndukuba as Chairman at Government House Umuahia,the Chief of Staff to the Governor,Dr ACB Agbazuere while noting that the purported employments were made without the approval of the Governor, charged members of the committee to be “thorough and impeccable” in their assignment as well as ensure they do not compromise.
According to him, their terms of reference  include: to determine all those purportedly employed at the  SEMB from 2018 till date, to ascertain the number of people employed in the board in addition  getting copies of the appointment letters,qualifications, posting and salary placements of those illegally recruited.
Other terms of reference include to look at the payroll of those recruited in Semb to ensure that names in the payroll are those reflected in the disarticulation exercise between ASUBEB  and SEMB and also set aside discrepancies.
The committee is also to confirm that all postings from the SEMB are only to Senior Secondary Schools including the postings of Principals and has three weeks to submit their findings to the state government.
Chairman of the Committee,Mrs Kate Ndukuba,in her response on behalf of other members of the Committee,assured that the Committee having recognised governments desire to get the system functional as it should be for the overall good of all ,will do their best to deliver on the assignment.
She thanked the governor for finding them worthy to serve adding that they will justify the confidence reposed in them.
Other Members of the Committee are: Kingsley Ogbuehi,Azubuike Anyatowu, Mr. Ihuoma Ohajuru, Mrs. Lynda Alaribe, Barrister Valentine Igboanugwo while Mr Chukwudi Iheka will serve as Secretary of the committee.
