Ikpeazu seeks support from House of Reps Members to tackle problems of South East zone.

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has solicited support from the Members of the House of Representatives of South East extraction to tackle problems challenging the region.
Speaking when members of the South East Caucus of the House of Representatives,led by the Deputy Chief Whip, Mrs. Nkeiruka Onyejiocha paid him a courtesy visit, Saturday,at Government Lodge Aba, Governor Ikpeazu urged them to persuade the Federal government to reconstruct Federal roads in the area and called for all hands to be on deck to ensure the full actualization of the Enyimba Economic Industrial City.
He said the Enyimba Economic city will not only open up employment opportunities for over 700 thousands youths from across the South East Region but will also promote socio economic development within the South East Zone.
Ikpeazu noted that the South East Region is challenged by multiplicity of problems especially erosion,road infrastructure among others which he said hamper economic activities.
The Governor added that his administration embarked on massive road infrastructure using Cement Pavement Technology to grant more access roads to traders and business men from the the South Zone and all parts of the country  who flood the State to transact business
His words: “Aba Ikot Ekpene federal highway is bad and in disrepair. Aba Port-Hacourt road is not working. Here in Abia,we suffer massive devastation in terms of erosion and since 2015 till now, this government has not received one dime from ecological fund.
“I will need your support to get Ikot Ekpene/ Aba road, Ikot Ekpene/ Umuahia road, Porthacourt /Aba road fixed. These roads are at the jogular of our economy. I want the Enyimba economic city project to be embraced by all Igbos to ensure its successful takeoff”.
Governor Ikpeazu, who commended the Legislators for visiting him described  the visit as most strategic and assured that his brother Governors would comply with their proposal of collaborations.
Earlier in their speeches, the leader of the delegation and Deputy Chief Whip, Mrs. Nkeiruka Onyejiocha and Deputy Minority Leader, Mr. Tony Okechukwu said they came to appreciate the works of the Governor in the State and to seek collaborations with him to develop the South East zone and assured of their readiness to partner him in the development of the region.
They commended the Enyimba Economic City Project of Governor Ikpeazu and his infrastructural development programs as well as promotion of Made in Aba Products in the State and urged him not to relent.
