Tow more cases of Lassa Fever have been reported at the Rivers State Teaching Hospital
Officials of the hospital said that two people were admitted at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital yesterday.
The Acting Permanent Secretary of the Ministry Chinwe Tonye-Atata, said that they have received four report of Lassa fever, and two samples were collected but no case has been confirmed.
She also said 57 people were placed under surveillance for Lassa fever. 41 people have been killed of Lassa fever with 258 cases confirmed this year.
National Orientation Agency in Rivers state said they started sensitisation campaign to prevent the outbreak of Lassa fever in the state.
The Public Relations Officer of the Agency Chinwe Okpara, told our reporter that they have been sensitising the Nigeria populace, more especially students in post primary institutions and primary schools on hand washing and how to keep the environment clean.
Mr Okpara said that their officials are carrying out sensitisation in communities, to enlighten them on needs for them to keep their environment clean.
