Abia House of Assembly passes 2020 appropriation bill into law.

The State House of Assembly has passed into law the 2020 Appropriation Bill of the sum of One hundred and thirty seven billion, One hundred and nineteen million, six hundred and seventeen thousand, One hundred and sixteen naira.

This followed the receipt and deliberation of the report of it’s committee on Appropriation on HAB 11: which is on the 2020 Appropriation Bill of the state and passage for third reading.

Speaking after its passage, the Speaker, Chief Chinedum Orji said when assented to, the 2020 Appropriation Law would be deemed to have come into force on the First Day of January, 2020.

The House also passed into law HAB 10: The Local Government Health Authorities of Abia State Appropriation Bill, 2019 of the sum of five billion, Seven hundred and Eighty two million, Nine hundred and twenty nine thousand, Eight hundred and thirteen naira.

This followed the scaling through third reading of the bill after the consideration of the report on it by the House Committee on Appropriation, presented to the House earlier during plenary.

The House adjourned plenary to reconvene on the 20th day of January, 2020.
