The chairman of the Abia State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (ASOPADEC), Chief Samuel Okezie Nwogu, has disclosed how the female employees in the ASOPADEC have been contributing to the success of the commission, saying no ASOPADEC without the women.

Chief Nwogu who made the disclosure in his office while speaking to newsmen shortly after the inauguration of the ASOPADEC Chapter of the Abia State Women Public Servants Association (ABSWPSA), said women are important factor in ASOPADEC, as they turn whatever they do to gold.

According to him, the successes of the ASOPADEC today could be traced to the contributions of women in their midst.

He said the way and manner they carry out their duties with a high level of discipline and intelligence was quite commendable, revealing that the commission as well as the male folks are empty without the women.

Chief Nwogu emphatically stated that women are foundation layers of every organization, expressing joy that the inauguration of ABSWPSA in the commission would further boost the women’s contribution to the development of humanity, urging them to shun any questionable characters and be good Ambassadors of the association.

 

While appreciating the ABSWPSA for awarding him a ‘Silent Achiever’, chief Nwogu further promised to do more to the development of the state and the association.

Also, the chairman on the occasion and Transition Committee Chairman of Bende Local Government Area, Eze-elect P.C Onyegbu, stated that the role of women in the society could not be over-emphasized, advising the women to carry out their duties effectively and be role models to other women in the service.

However, the state coordinator of ABSWPSA, Mrs Charity Ukonu, reminded the women that the state government in a bid to maintain sanity in the civil service inaugurated the ABSWPSA many years ago, urging the women not to defeat the purpose of setting up the platform.

“Discharge your duties effectively, come early to work,respect your male colleagues as well as your bosses and dress decently”,she said.

Meanwhile,the chairperson of ABSWPSA ASOPADEC Chapter, Mrs Anyadighibe Cynthia, expressed happiness over the inauguration, saying it would help them contribute their own quota, as well as extend the vision of the state government to the rural areas.

She promised that she would lead other women in advancing the objectives of the ASOPADEC and ABSWPSA in particular.
