Mgbeoji sworn in as Agric Commissioner in Abia

Prof Ikechi Mgbeoji has been sworn in as Abia state Commissioner for Agriculture with a charge by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu to evolve polices in the ministry which will ignite the interest of the teeming youths in agriculture not only as a profession but as a tool for economic development.
Speaking at the event held at the Executive Council Chambers,Government House Umuahia,Governor Ikpeazu while reminding the Commissioner that his appointment is a call to serve,charged him to work with the visions and policies of the state government for the development of the state.
The Governor who further charged the new commissioner to utilize his wealth of experience in the discharge of his duty to the state,urged him to run an inclusive administration in his ministry as well as collaborate with other Ministries in a bid to ensure he delivers quality service to Abians in good time.
While expressing satisfaction that the state is improving in rice production,Ikpeazu said he is passionate about the increase in other cash crops production such as oil palm,cocoa,etc
adding that with his huge agricultural pedigree,he will succeed in his new assignment.
He tasked the Commissioner to deliver on the Ubani Agro Industrial City as well as collaborate with the Umuahia Chamber of Commerce Industry,Mines and Agriculture and urged other members of the executive council to cooperate with the commissioner so as to enable him deliver on his mandate.
In his acceptance speech,the new Commissioner for Agriculture,Prof Ikechi Mgbeoji thanked the Governor for finding him worthy to serve the state and assured that he will put the interest of Abians first in all he does.
